We’re on the quest for the perfect map—one
that’s comprehensive, accurate and usable. We’ve been working on this
for the past several years, and are introducing several new tools that
will bring us even closer to this goal.
In the next few weeks, we’re enabling offline maps from more than 100 countries for Google Maps for Android users, making new 3D imagery and tours available in Google Earth for mobile, and extending Map Maker to additional countries. Later this year, we’ll also begin collecting imagery of beautiful places like the Grand Canyon thanks to our new Street View Trekker, made for locations that are only accessible by foot.
