Upcoming Technology 2012
Technology
is constantly evolving, just when you think it couldn’t get any better,
something else we didn’t think possible hits us. Here are 5 of the best
current and upcoming technology in 2012.
In Q4 of 2012, we can expect the release of the world’s first ever gaming tablet. Razer, who are primarily known for their PC peripherals, have dubbed the tablet “Project Fiona”.
Project Fiona will be the first ever mobile device that is specifically designed the run PC games such as Skyrim and Assassin’s Creed, out of the box. After its introduction at CES earlier this year, it is expected to house an Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge processor, 8GB of high-speed DDR3 Memory, and a 10.1-inch HD screen.
I wasn’t sure whether to include the Icona Tab A700 in this list, but its technical specs make it very hard to ignore. Acer really didn’t leave much to desire when they designed the tablet, making it one of, if not thee most powerful tablet the technology industry has seen this year. Underneath the 10.1-inch 1200p HD screen is and 1.3GHz quad core CPU, an Nvidia Tegra 3 graphics chipset, and a host of other features, including Wifi, 3G, and Bluetooth.
LG, who have been constantly innovating the TV industry in recent years, are at it again. The huge 84-inch Ultra Definition TV (UDTV) with voice and gesture control will have a mind-blowing resolution of 3840×2160 and support for 3D.
Not as well suited to this list as some of the others, but like Acer’s Iconia Tab, very hard to ignore. Windows 8 is due to be released in autumn 2012. It is the biggest redevelopment of any Microsoft operating system since Windows 95. Some of the new Windows 8 features include support for touchscreen devices, greatly improved performance, and better security.
The latest consumer preview is available for download.
There’s no doubt that the Apple iPhone 5 is one of the most highly anticipated gadgets of 2012. There have been quite a few concept designs in recent months but Apple has kept their, and as of now, no official specifications or designs have been released. Apple are expected to announce the official release date of the iPhone 5 at the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) this month on the 11th.
